The Witness

Soon after she became a widow, Rachel Lapp, who belongs to an Amish community, and her eight years old son, Samuel, decide to take a trip to Baltimore. Samuel goes to the bathroom and there he sees a murder. The victim was a policeman.

The detective, John Book, investigates the death. He’s the only one who knows that the murderer was a big black man. Samuel was led to the police station to the testify and to recognize the murderer. He sees the picture of the murderer in a newspaper. It was a man who was being paid homage because of his work against drugs and traffic.

The murderer wants to kill the detective but he runs away with Rachel and Samuel to the Amish community where they live. The murderer tries to kill John, but he just got wounded. John has to stay there – in the Amish community-, he can’t be taken to the hospital, because if Samuel is found the murderer could kill him.

The film was directed by Peter Weir, the main actor is Harrison Ford.
