"HOUSE OF D"House of D takes place in two different towns: Paris (in the present) and New York (in the past). It’s a thrilling drama, starring Robin Williams as Pappass and young Anthon Yelchin as Tommy. The movie is casted by David Buchovny (who is also the writer and the director) as grown up Tommy; Frank Langella as Reverendo Duncan; Téa Leoni as Mrs. Warshaw and Erikah Badu as the Lady.
The movie is about an American artist, Tom Warshaw, who lives in Paris and is trying to make sense of his adult life by reflecting about his childhood. The year is 1973, Tom is only thirteen and his best friend is Pappass, who is mentally challenged. Orphan, Tom has to make a difficult choice and, advised by a prisioner named just Lady, he moves to France, leaving his friend behind. Thirty years later, he comes back to confront his unfinished past.
The acting of Robin Williams is amazing, he shows us a different side of his. The way he pretends to be mentally challenged is very good, and it gives the movie a sense of reality. You finish watching it and think that Williams really has mental problems.

“ABRIL DESPEDAÇADO”
(BEHIND THE SUN)Recently Brazil has been improving their movies, and that fact can be proved if we analyse “Abril Despedaçado” (Behind the sun) shot in August and Septemper 2000 in the towns of Bom Sossego, Caetité and Rio de Contas, in the interior of Bahia.
According to the decision of the director, Walter Salles, professionals and non-professionals actors worked together. For example, José Dummont, Rodrigo Santoro, Ravi Ramos Lacerda (a little and inexperient normal boy) and others. That way, the film could bring such a real atmosphere, which is essential in drama movies, as Behind the Sun is.
In fact, the plot is moving and in the same way captivating. It occurred in 1910. Tonho, the hero, is ordered by his father to revenge the death of his older brother. After killing his brother’s murderer, he knows that he will be the next one.
Without a doubt, “Behind the Sun” is the confirmation that national movies deserve to be considered as good as international ones, since it could get

The Film ‘Duel’ was shot in a highway in southern California.
Duel was the first film directed by Steven Spillberg and written by Richard Matherson. The Story was all based in real facts.
Driving down a desert southern California highway Dennis Weaver pass a large gas trailer truck. Moments later, the truck is back, dangerously tailgating weaver abruptly cutting him off. For the next 74 minutes (original version, 1971) a terrible and anguishing pursuit begins.
I would recommend this film for anyone. Despite being an old movie, there’s a lot of action and mystery.
The movie was considered so genial that even with very low costs (U$ 375,000) and filmed with only one camera it was nominated for golden globe.

"HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL"High School Musical is an American film and was filmed in the beginning of 2006.
High School Musical is a story of two high school students, Troy Bolton, captain of the basketball team, and Gabriella Montez, a shy student who excels in math and science. Together they discovered the love for the music. A great part of the film was recorded in Salt Lake City, but the film was set in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Directed by Kenny Ortega, produced by Don Schain and written by Peter Barsocchini. Actors/ Actresses: Zac Efron as Troy Bolton, Vanessa Hudgens as Gabriella Montez, Ashley Tisdale as Sharpay Evans and Lucas Grabeel as Ryan Evans.
All the leading actors in this film already participated in other productions but this film was the greatest glory that got world-wide famous. Particularly I like all the actors. I also like the choreography, the songs are very good and I love musical films.

"SHREK"The movie that I´m going to talk about is a cartoon, which is very famous in the whole world. Shrek was filmed by DreamWorks studio and in the original version there are important actors who duble the voices, like: Eddie Murphy as the donkey; John Lithgow as the Lord Farquaad; Mike Myers as Shrek; Cameron Diaz as the princess Fiona;
The plot is about an oger named Shrek, who lived alone in a marsh that suddenly was invaded by magic creatures. Lord Farquaad, the one who sent the creatures, made a deal with Shrek for him to take all the creatures off. Most of the movie shows us the long trip that Shrek and his talkative friend, a donkey, made to a castle kept by a dragon to rescue princess Fiona.
This movie is very nice. It´s a romantic story, with humor in some parts. The songs are very lively and beautiful. I like very much this movie and I recommend it to every age, but mainly to adults because they can understand the story message.

"PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL"This movie is an adventure from the director Gore Verbinski. It is an excellent film, praised by critics. The story starts when Capitan Jack Sparrow has his ship stolen by Barbossa. With this ship, he invades Port Royal, taking with him Elizabeth Swann, the daughter of the governor. Will Turner, a friend of Elizabeth, and Jack Sparrow go after the ship. However, what they do not know is that the Black Pearl was affected by a curse that made the crew become skeletons at night.
With Johnny Deep as Jack Sparrow, Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Swann, Jonathan Pryce as governor Swann, and so many others celebrities.
I recommend this film because it tells the story in a funny and exciting way. Children can see it, so it is an experience to all family.

"HARRY POTTER"The films about Harry Potter are based on J. K. Rowling’s books. The plot is about a teenage wizard who is orphan raised by his uncle and aunt. On Harry’s eleventh birthday, he discovered he was a wizard, consequently Potter went to Hogwarts, a school for witches and wizards. During the years, Harry beats many challenges but Harry’s biggest fight is to kill Voldemort, the wizard who murdered his parents, or be killed by him.
The movie about our favourite wizard has action, fantasy, romance and comedy. It took place in a castle, Hogwarts.
Dan Radcliffe plays our hero, Harry; Rupert Grint and Emma Watson play the wizard’s best friends, Ron and Hermione; Voldemort, the vilan, is played by Ralph Fiennes.
It is a really great movie, which suits all ages; it’s worth a look.

"NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM"“Night at the Museum” is a comedy film whose story happens inside a Museum in New York.
This film was made in 2006.
The actors of this film are Bem Stiller, Lou Torres, Dick Van Dyke, Tobin Willians, Owen Wilson, Steve Coogan, Patrick Gallagher, Carla Guigino, Mathew Harrison, Mickey Rooney, Paul Rudd. All these actors perform so well, they are fantastic.
The director is Shawn Levy and the producers are Michael Barnathan, Chris Columbus, Bob Ducsay and Shawn Levy.
Larry Daley (Bem Stiller) never obtains stability in his profession life, it worries his ex- wife (Kim Raver). Their son, Nick (Bill Cobs), hasn’t many paternal reference.
Larry is a man that has good heart, that gets a work to take care of a History Museum at night. In his first shift many strange things start to happen: dinosaur’s skeleton and statue crayon start to earn life. In the middle of the chaos in the Museum, the only person that can help him is a crayon statue of Theodore Roosevelt (Rob Williams), that received life too.
The majority of people that watched this film liked so much. It is a very good film, and what are more impressing are the statues creating life.
